We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist, preferably with experience in paediatric or school settings. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with learners that may have complex physical, sensory, or behavioural needs. The OT will work with school staff, students, families, and external agencies.
Minimum hours per week are 40 hours, Monday to Friday, and the role is full-time.
Duties will include:
Plan and implement individualised occupational therapy programs and support staff to integrate the plan into daily class routinesProvide hands-on therapy using appropriate OT techniquesMonitor and review Occupational programmes regularlyAssess the need and apply for appropriate equipmentAttend school meetings, professional development, extra-curricular activities, and major school events, Key requirements Familiar with OT specific assessment tools used in this settingAble to develop strong, positive relationships with students and their familiesCommunicates effectively in English, both written and verbalWilling to share skills with the wider team and communityRelevant qualification and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New ZealandNeed to be approachable and responsiveMust have clean New Zealand drivers license or eligible to obtain immediately

In return
Remuneration is based on the Ministry of Education pay scale and will reflect your skills, experience, and qualifications and will range from $60,00 to $87,000 per annum.
Kaiarahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants' Collective Agreement applies to this position and salary is commensurate with qualification and experience. With the settlement of the Therapists Pay Equity claim, salary will be adjusted in accordingly, in the latter part of this year.
