Are you interested in working with children with developmental challenges and their whanau in a community focused service using an equitable and transdisciplinary model of practice?
Minimum Requirements:
A current practising certificate
A thorough knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and a sensitivity to different cultures
A current, clean drivers' license
A 'whatever it takes' approach
We are seeking therapists with knowledge of a range of disabilities, assessment tools, and therapies appropriate for children. However, if you don't have this experience but are keen to develop paediatric skills and learn how to work in a transdisciplinary model with whanau, we can offer you a unique opportunity to participate in comprehensive education and on-the-job training.
Applications from new graduates are also very welcome.
Our Tairawhiti Way of Working involves working collectively across agencies to enable whanau to flourish. Those with excellent communication skills and those who prioritise collaboration are encouraged to apply.
We work in a transdisciplinary model to maximise the use of face-to-face time and provide care in the most natural settings, i.e., home and education centres. We prioritise the needs identified by whanau rather than assumed by others to ensure the right person is selected to provide support in the right place at the right time.
With consent, the local workforce of health, education, and community support agencies share information, work flexibly, and collectively to reduce barriers and provide the support that whanau needs and requests.
All candidates for this role will be subject to a Police Screen.
