About the Role
We are looking for an Experienced Occupational Therapist to join our skilled and friendly therapy team in our acute inpatient team. Working in partnership with whaiora, whanau, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will provide high-quality, person-centred inpatient care. Problem solving and bringing creative solutions to complex discharge planning will keep you actively learning and engaged within the acute medical team. You will support and guide rotational Occupational Therapists and students and be involved in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the acute medical and inpatient Allied Health team.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will be part of a diverse and supportive team of acute and subacute Occupational Therapists. We value continued professional development, mentoring, supervision, and ongoing training. You will have access to regular in-service training, special interest working groups, and learning opportunities to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We also have an Occupational Therapy Professional Lead to support your growth and promote the Occupational Therapy service throughout our hospital.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.
New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist with current annual practising certificate (APC).
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
