The details: Permanent Full time – 80 hours per fortnight
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team either based at Thames Hospital or Paeroa Community base.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity This position is based at either Thames Hospital or Paeroa Community base, servicing the community across the Paeroa Area. In this role you will provide occupational therapy services to clients within their home environment and occasionally on the Thames Hospital ward. You will be collaborating with clients and the multidisciplinary team providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and interventions. Manage your own caseload and wait list and have a level of autonomy. Have access training to gain Housing, W/chair and Postural Management accreditations.

Meaningful support and orientation to your practice with robust opportunities for critical reflection on practice, including peer review and professional supervision On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme A great team environment and supportive work culture Allied Health is a directorate within Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.
We welcome applications from qualified Occupational Therapists | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau who hold a current registration to practice with the OT Board of New Zealand.
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
At least 18 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate Occupational Therapists | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills Ability to work autonomously and part of a team Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of the evidence informed practice A full New Zealand drivers licence Live and Work in the amazing Hauraki-Coromandel  The Coromandel Peninsula, Te Tara-O-Te-Ika-A-Maui, is renowned for its pristine beaches, misty forests and laid-back vibe which offers a wealth of nature-based activities and attractions for the whole whanau.
