We have an opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our community team. This position is based at our Ngaruawahia community base.
You will provide high quality interventions to our community in Ngaruawahia and surrounding area. You will provide quality assessment and deliver safe and effective interventions to support our clients to live as independently as possible.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will manage your own caseload and wait list. Ideally candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited, however training will be provided for the successful candidate if required.

Manage your own caseload and waitlist
Provide comprehensive assessments and goals to a diverse range of clients
Utilise patient management systems
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Allied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.
Mou | About you
At least 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate OTs
Rehab experience
Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
Full driver's licence
