An exciting opportunity has become available to work as an Occupational Therapist in our Community Mental Health & Addiction Services in Rotorua. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team who has an interest in Mental Health. Post graduate experience in mental health (2 years) would be an asset; however, for the right candidate, this could be a great position for a new graduate with opportunities to develop skills in occupational therapy assessment, individual work, and group facilitation.
Mo te turanga / About the role
As a Registered Occupational Therapist you will:
The role will include a mix of care coordination as well as profession-specific interventions, i.e., functional assessments. Also involves working with people as they transition from the inpatient service to the community.
This is a sole role that is supported by the senior community occupational therapy team.
Demonstrate strong assessment skills, experienced in a variety of interventions and be able to work within a skilled multi-disciplinary team.
Have the ability to connect and build a trusting relationship with people from a range of life experiences, cultural backgrounds and improve outcomes for Maori accessing care.
Permanent Part time (Up to 32 hours per week), working business hours (Mon – Fri 8am to 4:30pm). Structure of Part time hours negotiable.
