Details of the offer

NZSki - Snowboarder - Instructors & Coaches Late Application - Queenstown We are looking for some very special people to join the 2023 Coronet Peak / The Remarkables Snowsport team in Queenstown, New Zealand! Our key strategic focus and supporting initiatives are to deliver seamless and world-class guest experiences in Snowsports across both Queenstown mountains.
We are delighted to welcome applications from International and NZ/Aus experienced instructors, trainers, and performance coaches for our 2023 team. Our operational season at The Remarkables and Coronet Peak is scheduled to be mid-June through early/mid October.
If you're an experienced Level 3 or 4 certified Instructor/Trainer/Coach, we're keen to hear from you! We have a relentless focus on delivering high value, high quality experiences in private and group lessons as well as multi-day programmes. For experienced Examiners/Level 4s (or equivalent), we also have a suite of aspirational programmes in our Performance Academy.
Our values of manaakitanga (care and respect), kaitiakitanga (guardians of our mountains and environment), and whanaungatanga (connecting as whanau/family and people) are shared as 'Love It, Live It, Share It'. You'll have a chance to explore more about this during onboarding.
As a member of our Queenstown Snowsports Whanau (CP/RE) you'll be:
Joining an incredible international team of professional instructors, trainers, and coaches.
Involved in group and private lessons, multi-day programmes, and performance workshops (relevant to your experience) with a consistent focus on delivering high value, high quality experiences.
Progressing guests using NZSIA/SBINZ movement development guidelines. A key focus for all our lessons and programmes is ' Our guests will have way more fun with us than without us! ' To achieve this, our new guest ability levels focus on speed, terrain preference, competence, and confidence rather than filtering guests by mechanics and skills alone. Our new all-day group lesson experiences are focused on experiencing more fun, progress, and adventure through the day.
Adaptable to an ever-changing environment. No day is ever the same in New Zealand!
Flexible and adaptable to fit in with whatever is asked by the Leadership Team.
Part of our wider mountain whanau, as required, helping move guests through rentals, assisting with Snowsports check-ins on snow, answering queries for guests arriving to the mountain, and any off-snow operational duties as required.
Driven and motivated towards continuous development of your skiing and riding, supporting and engaging in daily training opportunities.
Appreciating and understanding that hours of work are subject to the weather, conditions, and business levels. Hours of work cannot be guaranteed; however, through our advanced scheduling and instructor management system, we endeavor to maximize your days.
Skills and Qualifications
A member of a national instructor organization (NZSIA, PSIA, BASI, APSI, CSIA, etc.) with a current active membership.
ISIA or equivalent Level 3, 4, Trainer or Examiner Level. We will accept applications from experienced Level 2 instructors who hold NZ Working Holiday Visas or already have the legal right to work in NZ.
Previous instructing and coaching experience is essential, with 3 seasons of teaching or coaching experience as a minimum for consideration of employer-sponsored visas.
Additional qualifications and experience outside your main sport/discipline qualification - Freestyle, Freeride, Race, Adaptive, Kids Cert, Alpine or Freeride athlete or coaching experience - is a huge advantage.
Further Information
All successful applicants will be required to be vetted by NZ Police (NZSki does this on your behalf). Should you be successful in initial screening, you'll receive a link to a video recorded interview to complete within 5 days of receiving it.
We love the places we work! What are you passionate about and what are your expectations of being part of our crew? We know our mountains are a great place to work. We also know that the people who work for us love getting out in the snow. So apart from that, what else has motivated you to apply to work for us? Share a time you went above and beyond the call of duty to get something done or resolve a problem in the workplace. What personal qualities and skills do you have that make you the ideal candidate for our Snowsports Team? What is your preferred name? What City and Country are you from? If not a New Zealand citizen/resident, please upload evidence of your legal right to work in New Zealand for 2023.
