The Publicity, Partnerships and Social Manager is responsible for the publicity, partnerships, social, events, and activations disciplines for the release of Universal and Warner Bros films in New Zealand. This role will lead the strategic development, implementation, and review of all publicity activity nationally; lead and own the social media campaigns including strategy, implementation, tracking, and review; and manage the partnerships function across all relevant film titles. This role will work closely with the Australian Publicity, Partnerships and Social Teams to drive on-going innovation and be instrumental in the delivery of commercial objectives in New Zealand. Job Description GENERAL MARKETING Actively contribute to campaign ideas. Identify best in class marketing initiatives for sources of inspiration. Lead in the strategy, planning and execution of the marketing campaigns across NZ. Manage the local social, events and publicity agencies performance and delivery. Ensure agencies/partners are given timely product information and possess a solid understanding of our business and the release slate to deliver on their objectives. Drive campaign forward thinking through early planning, ensuring longer term opportunities are identified and pitched in a timely manner. Monitor campaign activity and apply learnings to campaigns in real time. Deliver a Post Campaign Analysis for each title, applying learnings to future campaigns. Share top line insights with the Marketing team in a timely fashion. PUBLICITY Manage and lead the publicity strategy on all film campaigns, ensuring activity is in line with the strategic direction of the campaign provided by Head Office and aligned to local campaign strategy. Implement the most commercially successful course of action in line with each title's overarching strategy. Drive collaboration between the NZ team and the Australian team to generate publicity and content ideas and talent requests. Manage national publicity, servicing existing publicity materials to national media and creating new and innovative editorial opportunities on TV, print, radio, and digital, along with media promotional campaigns, always ensuring they are in-line with the overall strategic direction of the title. Responsible for all local screening presentations and launches across the studio slates, including premiere events, word of mouth campaigns, media screenings and more. Lead the ideation, concept development and delivery of events and activations for each film title, as relevant, overseeing all elements relevant to the success of the event. Coordinate talent tours: work directly with Head Office to compile schedules for visiting talent, run media junkets, talent liaison and oversee all tour logistics. For select titles agreed with the Head of Marketing NZ, develop highly creative activation ideas that will generate significant cut through and talkability amongst the core target audience and complement the wider campaign objectives. Develop relationships and maintain regular contact with key journalists, national media, influencers, digital outlets, bloggers, reviewers and any other relevant outlets for the benefit of film release. Undertake regular WIPs to identify upcoming publicity and junket opportunities and consider relevant cross-market activity. Report back to the Marketing Team with any key opportunities that may require budget, paid media, or promotional support. Update the Head of Marketing NZ on a regular basis, on all elements of your role including reviews and activity from other markets. This should include highlights and standout activity from competitive releases. Manage any potential publicity or brand damage issues with speed and professionalism, ensuring Head Office approval Qualifications Strong understanding of, and a passion for film. Strong strategic and creative thinking, with the ability to push boundaries. Demonstrates initiative and lateral thinking. Strong publicity, social media, partnerships and general marketing knowledge and experience. High level prioritisation and time management ability. Exceptional attention to detail is a must. Desire to work effectively as part of the ANZ team and thrive in a role where collaboration is essential. Thorough knowledge of local media and the current media environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Outstanding interpersonal skills and stakeholder management. Ability to deliver to short lead times, under pressure when necessary. Enjoys solving problems and initiating solutions. Keeps skills and knowledge up-to-date. Utilises appropriate sources of information in making decisions or taking action. Reliably meets challenging goals and tasks, even during demanding or changing work periods. Monitors own work to ensure quality; work is generally error free. Qualifications Minimum of five years press office/publicity and event management experience in related field. Minimum five years relevant social media management experience. Experience in brand partnerships or consumer licensing. Comprehensive understanding and experience with the New Zealand entertainment and media landscape. Relevant qualification in marketing and/or a related discipline. Right to live and work in NZ.
