Nutrition and Physical Activity Health PromoterThe community health promoter will play a pivotal role in enhancing the health and wellbeing of whanau within the Ngati Awa rohe. This position focuses on leading initiatives aimed at reducing Maori health inequalities. The role requires a culturally strong approach, incorporating Te Ao Maori perspectives to ensure health strategies are effective and resonate with the community.The primary purpose of this role is to:Reduce the incidence of health disorders by improved nutrition (including breastfeeding) and by increasing lifelong participation in regular physical activity.Reduce food poverty and improve food security.Reduce obesity among Maori by promoting environments that support healthy food choices and encourage participation in regular physical activity.Plan, lead, and coordinate the health strategies.Work with the line manager to ensure appropriate promotions are carried out.Support the wider health team with health promotion events in the community as per the annual plan.Incentives:Health insurance (conditions apply).Subsidized ECE fees at our onsite ECE center.Culturally supported throughout your employment.Become a part of a supportive team that strives to support whanau through their journey to achieve optimal health and wellbeing.If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
