Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
A new opportunity has come about in our Women's Health service at Auckland City Hospital. We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to step into this senior nursing role and take responsibility of leading and managing people, systems, processes and resources that facilitate service delivery and to ensure a safe and expected standard of patient care across our gynaecology services.
Our Gynaecology service includes: general gynaecology, inpatient and outpatient, urogynaecology, gynae-oncology, abortion services, early pregnancy loss services and fertility services.
As a NUM, you will be:
Responsible for the efficient and effective operational management of wards/departments which deliver patient care to patients and whanau at Te Toka Tumai (Auckland DHB).
Responsible for nursing professional and management accountability within a multidisciplinary team for clinical care, quality and safety, workforce, service delivery and the implementation of designated nursing and directorate strategy of the services
The role provides clinical and nursing leadership and management to ensure the effective day -to-day operation of the services and contributes to the delivery of directorate objectives, nursing and organisational strategy.

Reporting directly to the Director of Midwifery, this is an ideal opportunity for a Senior Nurse looking to utilise their previous management skills and clinical experience to lead a team and service while making a difference to the lives of their patients and their whanau. To be successful in this role:

RGON, RN, BHSc (Nursing)
Post-graduate Diploma
Minimum 5 years' experience post registration
Advanced experience in speciality nursing
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Sound understanding of professional ethics
Change and financial management experience
