Senior Nursing Leadership Opportunity 0.5FTE, Permanent, part-time role (20 hours) Fraser Macdonald Unit based in Grafton, Auckland Central Te whiwhinga mahi The opportunity We are seeking applications from Nurse Unit Managers with experience in acute mental health.
Awhi Matua Fraser McDonald Unit is a 15-bed acute mental health inpatient unit, serving the needs of our population 65 years plus.
We work collaboratively with our Awhi Matua community counterpart to provide a continuum of care for older adults.
As a member of our inpatient team, you will work closely with both parts of the service with the aim of supporting our whaiora back into the community.
The inpatient team operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The Nurse Unit Manager role in our multidisciplinary team is a role that works Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 to 16:30.
The Nurse Unit Manager has professional nursing and management accountability within the multidisciplinary team for clinical care, quality and safety, workforce, service delivery and the implementation of designated nursing and directorate strategy.
The role provides clinical and nursing leadership and management to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of Fraser McDonald Unit and contributes to the delivery of directorate objectives and nursing strategy.
Qualifications and Attributes The successful applicant will: Have a holistic approach to clinical care and a genuine interest in working with older adults.
Be a Registered Comprehensive Nurse (with a PG Cert in MH) or a Psychiatric Nurse who is already working to the top of their scope as a Charge Nurse, Clinical Team Leader or other relevant senior nursing operational role with recent experience in an acute setting.
Have minimum 2 years experience working in a Mental Health setting.
Be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Have a valid APC.
Hold a valid right to work visa.
