Nurse Specialist role based in our Liaison Psychiatry team at Auckland Hospital (Grafton).
Key Details:

Full-time role, Monday to Sunday rostered between 0800-2300.

The Opportunity:
The Liaison Psychiatry team at Auckland City Hospital comprises Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, Consultant Psychiatrists, a Clinical Psychologist, and Registrars, supported by a great admin team. We regularly take student nurses and medical students on clinical placements, providing opportunities to be involved in their learning experience.
The work environment is sociable, friendly, and supportive. We are committed to ongoing professional development and encourage undertaking non-clinical duties such as teaching.
Responsibilities:

Involved in urgent and planned assessments, planning and delivering care and treatment to whaiora throughout the hospital.
Assessing all individuals presenting with self-harm in the Emergency Department.
Work complex and challenging cases; must think on your feet and be skilled, adaptable, and responsive.

Your passion for mental health nursing and ability to practice autonomously will be evident as you join a functional and highly skilled team of senior nurses in a supportive multi-disciplinary team.
Work Schedule:
The role involves working rostered morning and afternoon shifts Monday to Sunday, with potential night shifts.
This role is permanent, full-time 1 FTE (40 hours per week). Remuneration will be at Step 1 Grade 3 of the senior nursing scale of the Mental Health & Public Health Nursing (PSA).
Important Skills:

Registered Mental Health Nurse with NZ registration and current APC.
Ideally, completed a Post Graduate Certificate in a relevant area of specialty practice.
Support will be provided to become a Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) if not already certified.
