Te Kaika is a Kaupapa Maori health service provisioning wrap-around care by a diverse group of professionals dedicated to compassionate, values-driven service to their community. Work is based in our new Wellness Hub in Caversham, Dunedin and hours may be negotiated to suit your lifestyle. We're looking for a team member who is has the ability to support the cultural beliefs and aspirations of turoro and whanau, who has excellent communication skills, and a track record of sensitive engagement. You will be supported in your clinical practice by the Clinical Director, in your professional development and cultural competency by the Public Health Tuakana, and report ultimately to the General Manager – Health Services. Qualifications & experience Has NZ Nursing Registration and a post-graduate education in prescribing. Can support the cultural beliefs and aspirations of turoro and whanau Has a strong ability to work collaboratively with GPs and other clinicians Has excellent communication skills and a track record of sensitive engagement Tasks & responsibilities Collaborative assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment for turoro presenting with both undifferentiated diagnosis and complex needs Support turoro to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care.
