The Doctors Te Whare Hapara is located in the heart of the coastal region of Gisborne. This diverse city is renowned for excellent surf beaches, world-class chardonnay, an active arts scene and a fantastic climate!
The Nurse Practitioner is expected to be well versed in all aspects of the provision of patient care. You will need to be able to work autonomously and part of your role will be to conduct physical assessments, diagnose, and treat common conditions, provide screenings, and prescribe medications to our patients. Providing one-on-one advice to patients means that you will need to be friendly, compassionate, and pro-active in the management of conditions.
Alongside us, you will have the chance to bring your prior knowledge, skills, and experience to care for our patient database, which includes a diverse range of patients in all age brackets. You will receive GP collegial support, work with skilled experienced nurses and administration team, and be supported by our Medical Centre Manager.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position rostered between 24 to 32 hours per week across Monday to Friday. There are minimal After Hours requirements, as the whole region participates in a Cooperative After Hours Service.

Do you have what we are looking for?
A current registration with the NZNC as a Nurse Practitioner and current APC is essential
Your practice aligns with the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi.
Prior experience in a medical centre is an advantage
An aim to improve healthcare access across the practice population
An in-depth knowledge of and passion for primary health care
Ability to demonstrate advanced clinical nursing practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to build strong rapport with team members.
A physically fit person who is confident, friendly, and approachable.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
