This could be the lifestyle change that you are looking for - so why not embrace this opportunity to work in a collaborative rural environment.As a Nurse Practitioner, you are a dedicated Healthcare Professional who is passionate about and committed to improving patient quality of life and healthcare outcomes.We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care.This is a full-time permanent role, based in rural Otago, starting as soon as possible in 2024.Responsibilities include:Clinical Practice – Develops and advocates for efficient models of care including:Effective clinical management of Primary Care patientsUses knowledge, research and clinical assessment skills to diagnose and develop patient care plansManages own case load – triages and refers as appropriateAdvocates for patients and families/whanauParticipates in interdisciplinary meetings and peer reviewsClinical Leadership and Consultancy -Takes a leadership role in Primary Care across various settings and disciplines locally and nationallyImplements change and promotes new initiatives as requiredMentors and educates nursing staff – Involvement in the Nurse Practitioner Training ProgrammeNursing Practice Development and Quality -Contributes to education and quality projects. Champions continuous quality improvement methodology.Health and Safety -Contributes to the development of protocols and policies, raising awareness of Health and Safety. Works collaboratively with the Quality Coordinator.Skills, Experience and Knowledge include:A minimum of five years recent clinical experience in General Practice nursing at Expert level on the Senior Clinical Career Pathway - Primary Care/Endorsed PrescriberSkills and ability to deliver education and training sessions and to coach and mentor nursing staff effectively.Teamwork – Operates well within a multidisciplinary environment and acts as a consultant for Primary Care and Management.Excellent ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally/externally with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.Demonstrates a commitment to cultural awareness and best practice Nursing.Hours of work: As rostered – details to be confirmed.How to apply:To apply click the APPLY button and attach a CV and brief cover letter.
