An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mary Potter Hospice for a motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner with preferably palliative care/gerontology experience working within the Community across our bases in Wellington, Porirua, and Kapiti.This is a fixed term position for 6 months. We are looking for someone ideally in full time but we would be open to someone in part time with more than 24 hours a week.The Nurse Practitioner is a valued member of the Multi-Disciplinary team who contributes to hospice clinical, educational, and service development activities. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with palliative care needs, including the prescription of medications.As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership and support with a multidisciplinary approach that contributes to the vision and values of palliative care.You will demonstrate nursing leadership by participating in submissions and policy development and provide advisory support and mentorship for Registered Nurses and the rest of the multi-disciplinary team.You will possess a registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand in the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice and hold a current practicing certificate, a Master's Degree, or equivalent (with NZ recognised prescribing).
