As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership to enhance patient treatment and care planning for elective surgical patients and oncology patients at Mercy Hospital.This is a permanent role offered at 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) to be worked on a rotating roster Monday-Saturday between the hours of 0800 AM – 1030 PM.Specific Duties IncludeCollaborating with Credentialed Specialists to optimise health outcomes for consumersProviding comprehensive care across the healthcare continuum for the Mercy patient groupOverseeing and supporting the management of patients with complex needsProviding clinical leadership support and education to staffSkills and ExperienceAlongside your extensive clinical experience, our ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator with proven clinical credibility within the healthcare industry. You will also need to demonstrate the following:Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Nurse PractitionerHold a current practising certificate with prescribing authorityProficiency in advanced nursing proceduresMinimum of 4 years of clinical practice within the defined scope of specialty practiceNew Zealand Resuscitation Council CORE qualificationExcellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent communication skills and proven ability to relate well to health professionals and members of the publicPossess the ability to think outside the square, communicate effectively, and promote best practice and standards of careTo be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.Why Mercy Hospital?Joining Mercy means more than just having a job, but being part of a team that works together towards a shared purpose.
