Dunedin Hospital Salary Band – $114,000 - $121,000 1 FTE / 80 hours per fortnight Permanent vacancy Opportunity to step up Education is central to the Nurse/Midwife Educator role, however in order to influence and strengthen nursing/midwifery practice it is essential the role is underpinned by all the competencies as outlined in the position description below.
Mo o taiwhanga haparapara / About our theatres Nine Main operating theatres, + Two Day Surgery theatres + One C-section theatre. Our theatres provide tertiary level elective and acute surgery. Specialties that include cardio-thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular, liver resections, general surgical upper and lower GI, urology and orthopaedic both elective and acutes. Well integrated and collaborative team that work well across the spectrum of care offered. Mo te turanga / About the role Support new and existing staff within the MOT with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence based and fit for purpose. Collaborate alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team. Provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality and safety alongside improved patient outcomes. Use critical incidents as an opportunity for staff development. Act as a resource person and support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements. Mentor nurses, midwives and preceptors where appropriate. Network nationally and internationally and keep up to date on trends and developments within education. Mou ake / About you Proven experience leading or teaching others. Current APC and already hold NZ working rights. A born communicator and collaborator. Able to build successful working relationships. Utu whanui /Salary range This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($114,025 p.a) and Step 2 ($121,444 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Nurse Scale, Grade 1.
