About the Role and Service The Nurse Director: General is a key nursing leadership position within Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau. The Nurse Director provides overall leadership for the strategic direction, day to day operations, quality and clinical governance and professional development in general nursing services to ensure nurses deliver sustainable results in the organisation's key result areas. The primary purpose of this role is to: Lead nursing quality and safety performance ensuring nurses contribute to and meet key organisational objectives Contribute to Te Tai Tokerau nursing leadership to enable the delivery of a high performing health system focused on service delivery and outcomes The Nurse Director: General will act as a Maori health champion and promote Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action across nursing About you New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate Masters degree in nursing, health, Maori health or health management Leadership experience and abilities with a flexible and collaborative leadership style Sound understanding of professional ethics Change management and quality improvement practice and experience Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
