Northland Events and Community Engagement Lead Are you passionate about community engagement and fundraising? The Northland Events and Community Engagement Lead is a pivotal role that will allow you to coordinate impactful fundraising events and drive community awareness in support of our mission at Cancer Society Auckland Northland. You will be responsible for planning and executing key events such as Daffodil Day, Relay for Life, and Jump for Cancer, collaborating with local communities and the wider Cancer Society Auckland Northland team.
Your outstanding ability to build relationships will allow you to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. A strategic mindset, combined with strong communication skills, will be essential for identifying growth opportunities. You will excel in managing projects, from briefing and planning to executing and overseeing events, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination: Plan and execute fundraising events, ensuring effective collaboration with community groups, sponsors, and volunteers.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and support event volunteers, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
Community Engagement: Build strong relationships within the Northland community to enhance fundraising efforts and identify new opportunities.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records of volunteer engagement and event statistics for reporting and auditing purposes.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in event coordination and community engagement.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with volunteers, community groups, and a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for making a difference in the community.
Availability for occasional weekend work during event preparations and execution.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
