Northern Health School - Auckland West

Position: Primary and Intermediate (Years 1–8) / Kura Tuatahi, Certificated Teacher Subjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts Qualifications: Experienced primary trained teacher with strong curriculum knowledge and a basic understanding of NCEA. Recent experience teaching the New Zealand curriculum preferred. Skills: Ability to speak te reo Maori and/or connections with local iwi highly valued. We invite applications from fully registered teachers with knowledge of the NZ school curriculum to join our Auckland West teaching team. The Auckland West Unit is currently located at our attractive premises in Khyber Pass, Grafton, but will likely relocate to West Auckland during 2025. Teachers cover students within the area from Waterview – Blockhouse Bay Avondale West up to Muriwai across to Te Atatu on the Waitemata. We provide education and transition support for Y0-14 students whilst ill health prevents them from attending their regular school. We are therefore keen to hear from teachers with flexibility and empathy, and an ability to adapt teaching to the unique needs of the individual student. School Information: Northern Health School is a Ministry of Education funded school. School management and administration is predominantly based in Auckland with school units in centres throughout the North Island from Kaitaia to Gisborne, Taupo, and Taranaki.
