Nga Mataapuna Oranga is a kaupapa Maori PHO (Primary Health Organisation) located in the Western Bay of Plenty. We offer support and direction to a network of Kaupapa Maori health and social service providers and have been operating collaboratively since 1990. Collectively, we provide a comprehensive range of health, social, whanau ora and cultural services to approximately 30,000 whanau primarily in the Western Bay of Plenty.

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Kaiwhakahaere to join our Whanau Ora team based in Tauranga and lead our Nga Tini Whetu initiative.
As the Kaiwhakahaere - Nga Tini Whetu Whanau Ora, you will be a pivotal leader within our organisation, guiding the successful implementation and coordination of the Nga Tini Whetu programme. This role is focused on supporting the first 1000 days of pepi's life, ensuring that our services are effectively delivered to whanau, and fostering a collaborative environment for our collective partners.
Your responsibilities include:
Coordinating and co-facilitating Whanau engagement targets across the program.
Effectively managing team performance to achieve the organisation's strategic vision.
Contribute to the overall vision of Nga Mataapuna Oranga beyond core areas.
Synchronizing the delivery of Nga Tini Whetu initiatives, including planning, resource allocation, and prioritization.
Coordinating the Kaiarahi function to maximize service availability and delivery to whanau.
Providing monthly and quarterly service outcomes reporting.
Building and maintaining relationships with agencies, community groups, Maori networks, and relevant individuals.
As the successful candidate, you will have:
Experience working with Maori communities, particularly hapu and iwi within Tauranga Moana and the surrounding rohe.
Experience working with Pepi and Tamariki up to 3 years of age.
Experience in building and sustaining relationships with government agencies, Iwi, Hapu, Whanau - Maori, and other Key Stakeholders.
Clinical and/or Social Work experience is desirable.
Awareness of the dynamics of Whanau, Hapu and Iwi and an understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Cultural awareness and acceptance of diversity.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Ability to problem solve and prioritise to meet set deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
