About us
At Sanford, we are proud of our 100+ years of seafood history, passionate about our industry and excited about our future. Our vision is Leadership in New Zealand Seafood, achieving this through a value led approach of care, passion, integrity and achieving together in all that we do.
Join our dynamic team at Sanford, as we expand our Timaru based fleet with the brand-new diesel-electric scampi vessel, San Koura Rangi . This state-of-the-art vessel features electric trawl winches designed to minimise fuel consumption and reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with our commitment to sustainable fishing practices.
The San Koura Rangi is more than just a vessel; it's a symbol of our deep connection to the ocean, with its name reflecting the rich heritage of those who have always respected the sea. While our ancestors may not have harvested scampi, they recognised its presence in the waters, naming it "Koura Rangi."

Your organisational skills will be key in fostering a team environment while contributing to the vessel's success.
As a Qualified Deckhand (QFD) or General Hand , your responsibilities include supporting the crew in all deck operations such as trawl setup, gear maintenance, and safety protocols.
