Mo te turanga | About the role This role will be a leader within the New Dunedin Hospital Programme Management Office team, supporting Southern's Programme Director and New Dunedin Hospital colleagues in ensuring a successful opening and enduring operation of the Outpatient Building. While early transition programme planning has begun, this role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to play a pivotal role in the New Dunedin Hospital project.
This role will:
Lead and develop the New Dunedin Hospital Outpatient Transition Programme to incorporate projects and initiatives necessary for successful planning, migration, operational commissioning and "go live" of the Outpatient Building.Ensure the projects within the Outpatient Building Transition Programme are effectively planned, sequenced and managed.Work with the Programme Director, Deputy Programme Director, Southern H&SS Leadership Team, Clinical Transformation Group and New Dunedin Hospital colleagues to translate model of care changes.With support from the Deputy Programme Director, create a governance, reporting and monitoring structure appropriate for a programme of this scale, risk and opportunity that aligns to Health NZ's methodology and practices.Provide regular reporting to the Transition Programme Steering Committee, Group Director of Operations (Southern), Programme Director and Southern Leadership Team on the status of the programme and key dependent programmes/workstreams. Reporting will include a summary of critical risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits to a level of detail appropriate to ensure programme progress can be tracked by the Transition Programme Steering Committee.Work with New Dunedin Hospital and key service/clinical colleagues to ensure hospital workforce modelling and other service requirements are appropriately incorporated into the Outpatient Transition Programme.Be one of the key liaison people between the programme and stakeholders.Our successful candidate will have a Relevant Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Business/Project Management or significant demonstrable experience in a related field.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
Significant project or programme management experience, preferably in capital projects within the public sector within large and complex organisations.Excellent knowledge of good project governance, reporting, monitoring and assurance frameworks appropriate to a programme of this scale.The ability to review large complex documents and distil the relevant information or key points and risks in a fast moving, dynamic environment.A strong understanding of public sector capital planning, particularly Treasury's Better Business Cases model.A sound understanding of financial management.Excellent judgement, relationship building and management skills.The ability to deliver under tight deadlines, both in individual and team-based scenarios.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.The ability to effectively manage and operate under pressure in an often-ambiguous environment.Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. Utu whanui | Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA Policy, Advisory, Knowledge and Specialist Workers Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with our IEA pay scale.
