We are seeking a New Business Manager for our North business to really drive this capability and take our business to the next level.
The role Reporting to the GM Hawkins North, this leadership role will provide business development and strong commercial acumen from the top of the North Island to Taupo, and proactive support to the Hawkins Leadership Team and key national bids.As New Business Manager, you will lead our front end estimating teams and drive strategy to maximize our market position, identify and convert opportunities and assist to improve commercial results. A key aspect of this role is strong commercial focus and governance to build long term sustainable capability and lend technical expertise and guidance and lead our regional front end teams, notably critical throughout the bid and pre-construction phase. A drive for consistency and integration with The Downer Standard will be key part of this role.The ideal candidate for this role will be a skilled operational commercial leader with extensive front end experience across the NZ building industry. To be effective in this fast-paced environment you will need an upbeat and proactive approach with an agile mindset and focus to implementing technical innovations that add value and meet our client and business requirements. You will have excellent skills in CRM, tender planning, and an eye for detail as we continue fine tune and improve our front-end capability.About you To be successful in this role you will be suitably degree qualified and an experienced senior leader with a proven track record that includes:
Strong operational and commercial market awareness across the Construction industry;Outstanding people leadership skills and values that empower others;An ability to build strong working relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders;Strategic agility and proven commercial and risk management skills;A strong customer focus and reputation as a trusted advisor;Quality bid management experience with an eye for detail and excellence;Strong Contract background and be experienced in NZ form of contracts;Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to deliver effective and energetic presentations.This is a fantastic career opportunity for a senior leader who aspires to establish themselves at a senior level.
