This role is a three-year fixed term full-time role based in Wellington.

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
Nature-based Solutions (NbS) seek to maximize the ability of nature to provide ecosystem services that help address human challenges, such as climate change adaptation and disaster-risk reduction. The NbS Project Coordinator will manage complex projects across the Aotearoa New Zealand TNC work programme, focusing on the Blue Carbon Programme.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU
The NbS Project Coordinator will provide comprehensive technical and managerial support across NbS workstreams, including:
Developing project plans, budgets, and key technical documentation.
Assessing project scope and objectives, ensuring all risks and dependencies are identified.
Managing project lifecycles by monitoring, measuring, and reporting on progress.
Engaging with programme partners and stakeholders, and contributing to community efforts.
Utilizing established project management methodologies and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
Monitor and measure project progress, identify risks, and take corrective action.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status.
Make independent decisions based on analysis and project context.
Coordinate with internal and external teams to achieve project objectives.
Ensure programme compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
May undertake fieldwork in variable weather conditions and potentially remote locations.
Travel occasionally, working long and flexible hours as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in a scientific/environmental field and 5 years' experience or equivalent combination.
2+ years of project management experience.
2+ years of undertaking environmental fieldwork and/or desktop assessments.
2+ years working with local/central government policies and regulations.
2+ years of technical data analysis and reporting.
Experience in managing multiple projects and using project management techniques.
Experience writing funding proposals and negotiating complex agreements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-lingual skills and understanding of Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori.
Experience working with carbon markets and government legislation.
Proficiency in analyzing scientific data in Excel and other statistical environments.
Experience authoring scientific research papers/technical reports.
Experience designing capacity-building programmes.
