Production, Planning & Scheduling (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)We are seeking a Logistics Planner to join us in our Napier Support Office.This role will be exposed to and is responsible for assisting in the effective management of our stock placement throughout the country.The role encompasses logistic planning from the outset of inventory purchasing, from landing containers at the right ports and our three main warehouses across the country, to ensuring we have the right stock in the right regions, stores, dispatch centres and warehouses based on business requirements.An effective logistic planner will help maximise profitability and efficiency within our organisation. This is a growth role with lots of opportunity for development and training; the ideal candidate should have an appetite to take ownership of the division.This role will also see you collaborating with various internal departments, suppliers, and retail stores. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:Co-ordinate container and port bookings, expedite shipments, prioritise critical purchase orders.Manage and track international shipments.Review and allocate inventory to meet forecasted and actual demand requirements.Resolve any issues in relation to logistic activities in a timely manner ensuring any shipping delays are communicated to key stakeholders in a timely manner.Ensure any delays impacting budgets and forecasting are communicated and managed alongside the CFO.Receiving and processing of overseas documents.Provide quarterly logistics cost analysis including information on logistics cost issues and saving opportunities to business management.Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities or logistics quality management.We are looking for a candidate who is highly driven and able to think on their feet as this role requires initiative, excellent communication and quick problem solving.You must have relative experience in logistics planning and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
