Reporting to the National Youth Manager, you will contribute to fostering positive connections between Te Ao Maori and the Youth Programme. In this role, you will provide advice on tikanga, youth ceremonies, and the integration of te reo Maori across the curriculum. You will also manage and provide leadership to people and events as necessary, ensuring alignment with cultural protocols and practices. Additionally, you will offer guidance and facilitate contact with kaupapa Maori organisations interested in adopting aspects of the Youth Programme, promoting cultural sensitivity and collaboration within the community.This role can be based in any city within New Zealand. You will be expected to attend the monthly NYLT meetings online and may be invited to attend quarterly in-person NYLT meetings as needed. You will be expected to attend a minimum of three divisional nights each term, which can include attendance at a variety of divisions. You will be required to obtain a permanent youth leader appointment, with the portfolio role being a fixed-term arrangement.
