Our leading poultry breeding company based in New Plymouth is seeking a results-driven, experienced National Health & Safety Business Partner to maintain and enhance our health and safety systems while fostering a culture of care and compliance across our NZ business.
About the Role:
As the Health & Safety professional in our NZ based organisation, you will have both strategic and operational responsibilities, ensuring that safety is embedded in every part of our organisation. Key responsibilities include:
Partner with our business to ensure compliance with New Zealand's H&S legislation and best practices.Tailoring and adapting robust safety systems to the unique demands of the poultry industry.Developing and delivering engaging development programmes to grow leadership capabilities in health and safety and ensure solid safety practices through all levels at all sites.Managing injury prevention, management, and workplace assessments with care and precision to promote wellbeing and to reduce risk.Driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance, culture, and leadership.Leveraging data analytics and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.Your contributions will shape the safety culture and ensure the well-being of employees across our operations in Taranaki and Rotorua.
What We're Looking For: A relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or higher) in Health and Safety with demonstrated experience in a Senior Health & Safety role.Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and compliance frameworks.Proven success in a similar role with a track record of implementing and sustaining effective safety strategies and a positive safety culture across multi-site operations.Experience conducting workplace safety audits, investigations, and assessments.Exceptional communication and coaching skills to engage and influence teams at all levels, with a hands-on approach to engagement.Strong data analysis skills to support evidence-based decision-making.Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and diverse environment.A proactive approach to safety culture leadership, ability to design and deliver training and mentoring programmes.A commitment to ongoing professional development to remain at the forefront of Health, Safety and Wellbeing best practices.Why Poultry in Taranaki?

The poultry industry upholds strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards, which all employees must comply with. For this reason, candidates cannot keep pet birds, poultry, pigs, or other intensive livestock at their place of residence.
