The focus is as an MRI Technologist, although there is opportunity to maintain an MIT scope of practice as well.The Radiology Department serves the population of the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa areas.
The Department receives a wide variety of clinical referrals, including Regional Plastic Surgery and Rheumatology services, as well as referrals from 2 Emergency Departments providing X-Rays, ultrasounds, MRI, and CT scans.The Department is a friendly, professional, and dedicated team of approximately 80 staff with a "Can Do" attitude who ensure the best possible care for our patients.
Our team includes: Radiologists, Sonographers, Medical Imaging Technologists, MRI Technologists, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Administration/Bookings Team, and Data/IT/Quality staff.We offer a supportive workplace culture with a commitment to your ongoing professional development and well-being, and we have a strong focus on ongoing quality improvement and constructive relationships with clinical colleagues.
The Radiology Department also holds International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accreditation.Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:Have a postgraduate qualification in MRI (or working towards one), or be registered with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board as an MRI MIT.Knowledge and confidence in professional and own professional role.Prepared to and has the ability to learn new web-based clinical applications, e.g., IBA, Concerto, Comrad, RIS/PACS, required for the role.
