View this link for salary information.Performs Motor Vehicle Operator Duties Such As:Drives various sizes of trucks with trailers to transport equipment, personnel, and tools to jobsites to conduct routine trail maintenance.Knowledge and ability to safely use and maintain hand and power tools of various trades.Does manual labor tasks, such as cleaning drainage ditches, raking, and shoveling.Uses equipment to perform trail side brushing and clearing of debris.Follow written instructions, maintenance standards, and standard operating procedures to perform tasks.Physical Demands: Moderate physical effort may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment.
Considerable physical effort may be required in backing vehicles, changing tires, and making limited emergency repairs.
Required to frequently lift items weighing over 50 pounds.
Work also involves climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in and around power tools and equipment.Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Operates vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads and is exposed to the danger of serious accidents.Special Conditions--Air Quality: Poor air quality afflicts Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, especially during summer months - generally May to October.
High ozone levels may be the most harmful pollutant here.
In summer months, concentrations often exceed the federal ozone health standards.

Citizenship required.Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
A uniform allowance will be provided.You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work.Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.Travel, transportation & relocation expenses will not be paid.
