Our talented team of engineers designs cutting-edge electric motor and controller technology that forms the nerve centre of the appliances in our homes.As our new Motor Control Engineer, you will develop, test, and deploy innovative motor control algorithms, models, and functionality to add value to our products, our customers, and our business.Reporting to our Motor Control Team Lead, you will:Develop, debug and support motor control and system-level algorithms across our product range of Laundry, Airflow and Fitness motor controllers.Collaborate with the embedded software team to implement models and algorithms in high-performance embedded systems.Leverage Model-Based-Design to model electrical and dynamic systems, tune controllers for them, and automatically generate production-ready implementations.Your experience will include:At least 3 years' experience developing motor control algorithms and software.Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.In-depth knowledge of Field Orientated Control (FOC) and sensorless motor control algorithms.In-depth knowledge of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) schemes such as space vector, discontinuous, and sinusoidal modulation.In-depth knowledge of control systems including PID controllers, feedforward control, state estimation and parameter identification.In-depth knowledge of software and model/algorithm development using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python.Knowledge of signal processing considerations including aliasing, jitter, quantization, and other nonlinear effects.Knowledge of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM).Knowledge of embedded software development in C/C++ for 32-bit ARM based MCUs or similar.We offer:Opportunities to grow your career in the direction you choose.A flexible working environment – with a combination of time collaborating in the office and focused work from home.The chance to put your creativity to the test and work on new ideas.
