As our Auckland team expands, an exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are on the look-out for a new Mechanic to join our team. Operating from our busy North Shore depot, you'll be at the forefront of servicing an extensive range of vehicles and equipment—ranging from tractors, trucks, utes, to mowers and everything in between. Our teams work throughout the region, and although your primary focus will be Auckland initially, this role opens doors to future opportunities for travel beyond Auckland.
Responsibilities As a key member of our team, the Mobile Mechanic will be responsible for:
Assisting mechanics in project work completionTackling advanced vehicle electrical issues and performing heavy vehicle engine workDiagnosing vehicle failures, removing and replacing parts as neededMaking service calls to repair equipment and vehicles away from the shopConducting preventive maintenance, repairing or replacing broken partsResponding to dispatch calls for machine and equipment repairsExecuting other support duties as required for smooth operationsPlacing part orders and recording charges to the vehicle accountChecking all work and ensuring defect-free assembly before the final inspectionReading job orders, observing, and listening to vehicles in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work proceduresReassembling equipment after inspections, testing, or repairsDocumenting all work performed and recommended on the repair orderEnsuring compliance with safety rules, regulations, and LTSA/NZTA standardsQualifications/Attributes The ideal candidate will possess:
Mechanical trade certifications or equivalent hands-on experienceProven expertise in engine repair, machine assembly and disassembly, and exhaust systemsSharp critical thinking skills coupled with meticulous attention to detailExcellent communication skills, delivering diagnoses to customers with a positive and reassuring attitudeProficiency in fixing parts on diverse vehicles, including tractors, trucks, utes, and lawnmowersLeadership abilities, ready to lend support to team members when requiredWhat we can offer you As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with other professionals, gain further knowledge and experience, and develop your career.
