This role is based in Wellington and is suited to an experienced Ministerial Advisor (1 – 2 years' experience) looking to advance their career working across a range of international business and public service issues. A role with the Ministerial team allows you to build relationships with all parts of NZTE including our global network, and wider NZ Inc. agencies.
What you'll be doing - Te whakamahere This is an important role where you are involved in how NZTE works with our Ministers for the benefit of our customers. You will join a small, busy team, which will see you cover everything from parliamentary questions to more substantive briefings, and requires you to be flexible and adaptable as things could come up on a moment's notice! You will also work on Official Information Act responses.
Day to day can include but is not limited to; working on briefings or advice for our ministers, working on project opportunities which can see you joining meetings with representatives from across NZTE and other agencies and supporting Ministerial travel and trade missions.
What you'll need to be successful - O Pukenga As part of the Ministerial team, you will get a number of opportunities to work closely with NZTE's regional and international offices and engage with teams at a variety of levels. This role will provide you with a unique insight into NZTE and how we work, both as an organisation and with our external partners. This is a great opportunity that will suit someone who has excellent attention to detail skills, strong written and communication skills, and is able to adapt your communication style to your audience. You should also be effective at building stakeholder relationships across the organisation and externally and have a can-do attitude.
