Midwife Manager Primary & Integrated Services Otepoti Dunedin Maternity Salary Band $132,000 - $142,000 p.a.
Pro rata + KiwiSaver 0.5 FTE (40 hours a fortnight) Project based - Fixed term until June 2025 Support primary care models and integrated care in a tertiary environment.
Manage and support Dunedin outreach/caseload services Support quality and safety initiatives Use your proven leadership skills to facilitate and enhance service delivery Lead alongside the wider senior leadership team to support primary care in a tertiary environment and provide an antenatal and postnatal midwifery service to persons accessing the outreach which would include caseload team/s model when needed.
Mo te turanga | About the role Lead and support primary maternity models of care in the tertiary services environment Provide professional and clinical leadership for the Primary outreach/caseload service Ensure safe and effective delivery of maternity care Identify and mitigate clinical risk, and continuous quality improvement Coordinate resources to meet identified needs of clients/whanau and team members Manage staff and client flows in a caseload environment Provide operational leadership to ensure the service operates effectively, safely and sustainably Ensure the service is appropriately staffed and best practice human resource standards are met Maintain a cohesive and productive team by managing staff Manage quality and risk programmes Provide cover for MM-Queen Mary Maternity role as required Mou ake | About you It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current APC Hold a relevant post-graduate qualification Demonstrate sound professional judgement Have relevant knowledge of patient safety and resource management Demonstrate clinical quality, safety and best practice Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment Confidence with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey Join our maternity team at Health New Zealand I Te Whatu Ora, Southern at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of providing a safe and positive childbearing experience to all expectant pregnant people in our region.

Utu whanui |Salary range This role falls under the terms and conditions of the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 February 2024 – 30 April 2025), and falls between the step 1 ($132,397 p.a prorata) and Step 3 ($142,182 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Midwife Salary Scale - Grade 7.
