Mo te turanga - About the role A rare opportunity has become available for a permanent Midwife Manager to join our Maternity Team at Health New Zealand Southern where you will meaningfully contribute to our Kaupapa of providing a safe and positive childbearing experience to all expectant pregnant people in our region.
As the Midwife Manager, you will lead and support the Southland Hospital Maternity Unit, providing clinical and operational leadership to ensure the service is responsive to the changing needs of our community and health system.

Mou ake - About you Alongside your strong leadership skills and extensive midwifery experience, our ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator with proven clinical credibility in all aspects of midwifery care and be able to demonstrate ability to lead from the front with diverse groups of people or complex cases.
Some of the skills we are looking for are as follows: * It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current annual practicing certificate.

Utu whanui - Salary range This role falls under the terms and conditions of the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 February 2024 – 30 April 2025), and falls between Step 1 ($132,397 p.a prorata) and Step 3 ($142,182 p.a prorata) of the Designated Senior Midwife Salary Scale - Grade 7.
