Mo te tunga | About the Role
Tapuhi Ahi Ka is seeking two passionate and dedicated Registered Midwives to join our Maori Midwifery-led service. This role is pivotal in whakamana (empowering) whanau, mama, and pepi Maori by providing coordinated support and a continuity of care throughout haputanga (pregnancy) and the first 2000 days of a child's life. Our service is deeply rooted in Te Ao Maori, offering a unique and holistic approach to maternity care that honors the wairua (spirit), mauri (life force), and mana of the families we serve.

O wheako, o pukenga | About You:
A New Zealand Registered Midwife with a current practicing certificate.
Committed to improving equity and eliminating barriers for whanau Maori.
Skilled in applying Turanga Kaupapa and Te Ao Maori principles in practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledgeable in providing woman-centred care that incorporates the whanau ora approach.
Qualification and/or Requirements:
Evidence of competent midwifery practice; recent graduates should have evidence of enrolment in the Midwifery First Year of Practice Programme.
Understanding of maternity care delivery in New Zealand.
Ability to work effectively in a busy environment with competing demands.
Meets the requirements for working with children as per the Children Act 2014.
Current full driver's license.
