Booth's Logistics – Christchurch, South Island
We have an excellent opportunity for a Metro Planner to join the team in our Christchurch Branch. This is a weekday role working the morning/early afternoon shift from 6.00am to 3.00pm to ensure efficient management of our inbound and outbound freight.
Ideally, our successful candidate will have well-honed NZ Transport & Logistics Industry knowledge. You'll need to be a self-driven team player with attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems 'on the fly' with calm rationale.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily networking with our Drivers, Management, Staff in other Branches, and Customers.
Complete outturns for inbound units.
Create the manifests for all outbound units. Email manifests to receiving Branches.
Send delay notifications of units or freight to receiving Branches and to CS.
Skills & Experience:
At least 3 - 5 years in a similar position.
Excellent geographical knowledge and understanding of New Zealand.
Experience in using ICOS and/or other TMS systems.
Current forklift certificate and OSH essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Consistent, high-quality, customer-focused approach in all interactions.
Effective in establishing long-term relationships and developing strong networks.
Strong attention to detail with above-average accuracy and numeracy skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically in Excel and Outlook.
Highly competent in navigating and maintaining information in digital systems.
A collaborative approach in working toward common goals.
Strong work ethic, with exemplary time management and organisational skills.
Resilient and adaptable in a sometimes time-pressured environment.
Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
