These are cohort based work experience opportunities in partnership with top global companies.Delta Launch: Delta Launch is designed to offer high school students a comprehensive set of extracurricular experiences that enhance their skills and add significant value to their college or university applications.Position: Coding MentorService: Delta Inspire @ Delta LaunchReporting line: Operations Manager, Delta LaunchWhat is this role responsible for?We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable Code Mentors to join our program aimed at teaching high school students.
As a Code Mentor, you will guide students through coding projects, foster their creativity, and help them develop practical skills in one or more of the following fields: Web Development, App Development, Game Development, or Data Analytics.These roles are part-time and hourly and can be done remotely working with students based around the world.This role will include:Working closely with a variety of students based across the world - including the US, Asia, Australia, and Europe.Maintaining reasonable levels of communication with students outside of formal sessions.Fields of Mentorship:Web Development: Teach students to build websites and web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Vue.js.App Development: Mentor students in creating mobile applications for iOS and Android using frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.Game Development: Help students explore the world of game creation, from designing game mechanics to developing interactive games using Unity, Godot, or other popular game engines.Data Analytics: Lead students through the fundamentals of data analysis, including working with Python or R, using libraries like Pandas, and teaching them how to interpret and visualize data.Key Responsibilities:Conduct 1:1 and group mentoring sessions with high school students, providing hands-on guidance in your area(s) of expertise.Help students apply what they learn by guiding them through project creation.Tailor your teaching to meet the needs and skill levels of each student.Ensure students understand key concepts and develop skills that they can showcase in college applications or portfolios.Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.Requirements:Applicants must have in-depth knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Web Development, App Development, Game Development, or Data Analytics.Prior experience teaching or mentoring students, especially at the high school level, is preferred.Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to students with varying levels of coding experience.Familiarity with guiding students through project-based learning.A genuine interest in helping students develop coding skills.Qualifications:Experience with popular web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React, Vue, etc.
).Experience with mobile app frameworks.Experience with game development engines.Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R, Pandas, etc.
