Mental Health Manager

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a clinical leadership role, overseeing mental health and youth work services that provide vital therapeutic support and mentoring to young people aged 12-24, as well as their whanau, in the Taupo and Turangi areas. This role strikes the perfect balance between team leadership, service management, and development, while allowing you to maintain a caseload and work directly with the young people we support. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of services across all of Anamata's wellbeing programmes in Taupo and Turangi. About us: Anamata is a youth one stop shop (YOSS) which has operated for over 30 years in the Taupo/Turangi District. Our team is made up of nurses, doctors, youth workers and mental health practitioners who provide confidential, culturally inclusive and accessible health service at low to no cost to young people and their whanau. We strive to support young people and their whanau to achieve health and wellbeing in all aspects of their lives. About the role: In this role you will: Oversee all Anamata services delivered in the Taupo and Turangi and ensure they are accessible, safe, respectful, and effective. Manage a dynamic small team, support their well-being and development, and contribute to a positive team culture. Provide therapeutic counselling for at-risk young people aged 12 - 24 years and their whanau. Provide a service that reflects the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Respect the diverse ethnic and cultural heritage of New Zealand and utilise culturally appropriate counselling practices. Maintain a professional registration – Registered nurse, occupational therapist, counsellor or social worker. 0.8FTE (32 hours per week). Skills and experience: Management or leadership experience, OR a real commitment to develop these skills. Current full NZ professional registration (i.e. Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Nurse, or Counsellor (DAPAANZ or NZAC). Experience working with rangatahi. Experience working as a brief & longer-term clinician in the Mental Health and/or Addictions field. Your full driver's license. The position will require travel across the Taupo and Turangi region to support the team and clients. 5 weeks annual leave. Cultural support & supervision. 1:1 professional supervision.
