They are looking for a trustworthy, confidential, creative Community Mental Health Coordinator to join their team. Covering both Kawerau and Murupara districts, this is a part-time role of approximately 20-25 hours per week.About the roleThe key function of this role is to support families, whanau and carers in maximising individual development potential and mental health of infants, children, adolescents and youth between the ages of 0-18 years and up to the age of their 20th birthday.Key responsibilities of the role include:Provide home support, education, information and care to clients and their whanauManage an active caseload of clientsOrganise early intervention strategies to ensure full wraparound service/support is provided for clientsPrepare client plans, tailoring to individual needs and adopting a strength based approachIncorporate play therapy into individual sessions to best meet client needsProvide care in a culturally safe manner, placing tikanga at the forefrontEstablish and maintain positive and functional relationships with key service providers and external stakeholdersComplete reporting requirements, ensuring strict client confidentialityStrict compliance with all legislative, company, service and professional requirementsFile management, capture data and update progress detailsNga pukenga me whai | Ideal candidate requirements:A Tertiary Qualification in Mental Health, Social Work or similar health related fieldRecent experience working in mental health and a strong understanding of mental health illnessFull Clean, Class 1 NZ Drivers LicenceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCreativity, able to be innovative while assisting tangata whaiora towards recoveryCommitment to Kaupapa Maori care as a way forward for Maori healthProven experience working in a kaupapa Maori environmentCompetency in Te Reo Maori and a good understanding of tikanga Maori is desirableStrong relationship and network managementMust be flexible, adaptable, approachable and patientExcellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlinesHigh attention to detailExcellent computer literacy skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office functionsKnowledge of Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau tikanga and kawaWhy Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora?Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora is committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for its staff and its community.
