We are actively looking for an experienced unisex hair stylist/barber for our salon located in the heart of the city in Huntly, New Zealand.
Work Hours:
Minimum 30 hours per week - Full-time permanent position.
We require an experienced barber for men or unisex to work in a popular store located in Huntly. Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy store.
Pay Rate: $29.66 to $32 per hour.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in men's haircut & styling in a barber shop or relevant level 4 or 5 qualification holding a diploma in a related job will be an advantage.
Flexibility to work 6 days a week.
Willing to work on weekends.
Ability to work in a team and take direction from management.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
A can-do attitude and good work ethic.
A NZ Citizen/Resident or hold a valid NZ work visa.
May be subject to police and drug test.
Job Description:
Welcoming clients and consulting with them on their desired hairstyles.
Cutting and trimming hair according to clients' instructions.
Styling hair using styling tools and products.
Shaving, trimming, and shaping clients' beards and moustaches.
Washing and conditioning clients' hair.
Ensuring that combs, scissors, razors, and other instruments are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Supervising apprentices and trainees.
Providing hairstyle suggestions to clients.
Sound knowledge of current hairstyles and trends.
The ability to follow instructions.
The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
