Job Description - Medical Oncology Registrar - 6 Month Fixed Term (WAI28815)Medical Oncology Registrar - 6 Month Fixed Term:WAI28815Te Whatu Ora WaikatoHealth New Zealand Medical Oncology Registrar – up to 6 Month Fixed Term (27 Jan – 27 July 2025)We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual for the position of Medical Oncology Registrar within our Cancer Centre.The Regional Cancer Centre is associated with a large Tertiary Hospital in Hamilton, and is New Zealand's second largest cancer treatment facility.
You will join a dynamic team of 7 Medical Oncologists, 10 Radiation Oncologists, 7 Haematologists and 5 Palliative Care Physicians managing all aspects of solid tumours and lymphomas.
You will work alongside 2 Medical Oncology and 4 Radiation Oncology advanced Trainees as well as 3 Rotating Registrars in Medical Oncology.
The close association with Waikato's tertiary teaching hospital involves the successful candidate in the multidisciplinary model of modern oncology practice and provides the following opportunities:Comprehensive experience in the management of the broad spectrum of solid tumours and lymphoma·Structured, well supported training program·Experience in Clinical Audit and Clinical Research underpinned by a well staffed clinical research unit involved in phase I, II & III trials.·Teaching of junior registrars, house officers and Medical students·Possibility of a research fellow position for suitable candidates·Internet access to major oncology journals and resources·Local and International conference attendance Your primary responsibility will be for the care of Medical Oncology outpatients and in-patients including patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplant.

You will be registered or eligible for registration, with the New Zealand Medical Council, and have had a minimum of 3 years of hospital based training in Internal Medicine.
