About the role Southern has an exciting opportunity for you to embark on a new challenge living in a unique and attractive location in beautiful Aotearoa. We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Oncologist to join our friendly team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent basis.
The Southern Blood & Cancer Service provides a team of 8 Medical Oncologists and 1 nurse practitioner, 5 Radiation Oncologists and 6 Haematologists working in a tertiary referral centre with strong links to the School of Medicine at Otago University. As such we encourage and support staff research and their continuing medical education. Our Service has a solid research program and we would welcome applications from Physicians with a sub-speciality interest or those with an interest in teaching.

We believe that our dedicated and passionate staff are a significant driving force behind the achievement of our high standards, and we need more like-minded people to help us continue providing excellent care for our community.
The Southern district offers the benefits of excellent amenities, first-class primary through to tertiary education, and outstanding recreational opportunities. Whether it is surfing, kayaking or sailing, skiing, hunting or fishing, theatre, live music or art – there's literally something for everyone.
