As a part of this initiative, the government is also investing in the people and facilities required to provide these medicines to New Zealanders.These positions have been created to support the first tranche of new medicines with more to come as Health NZ develops its plans to expand and make it easier for New Zealanders to access cancer treatment.About youWe are seeking motivated Medical Oncologists who are passionate about providing cutting-edge oncology care. You will be instrumental in delivering diagnostic, investigative, and treatment services, ensuring that each patient receives personalised and effective care. The collegiality, work-life balance, access to the great outdoors, and the opportunity to work in a rural town or city hospital are key highlights of this role. You will lead and direct training programmes, establish innovative models of service delivery, contribute to national tumour stream work, enhance national collaboration, and develop networks.Responsibilities:Provide specialised care across inpatient, outpatient, and day patient settings.Plan, assess, and oversee patient treatment programmes, acting as a leader and key resource within the oncology department.Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams to create individualised care plans that meet each patient's unique needs.We are seeking someone who not only has strong clinical skills but also a genuine passion for the field of oncology and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.You will need to be eligible to gain registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
