We will provide you with a wide range of experience within a flexible, multidisciplinary and highly skilled team.
We are a friendly multidisciplinary team working together to provide high quality healthcare to our rural community.
You will have many opportunities to develop and grow your skills and scope of practice within the framework of a community and rural hospital based service.
There is the opportunity to work in the emergency department, on our medical ward and fracture clinic.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Deliver proficient preventive, therapeutic and diagnostic interventions effectively.
Perform procedural skills, both diagnostic and therapeutic in a proficient manner.
Seek appropriate consultation from health professionals based at our tertiary hospital within the boundary of your expertise.
Develop rapport, trust and ethical therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Accurately extract and synthesise relevant information from patients, families and other professionals.

Mo tatou Ratonga | About our Service
Tokoroa hospital sees approximately 14,000 presentations a year through its emergency department and has a 17 bed inpatient ward. We have on-site plain film radiology and laboratory services available during the day and on call 24 hours, 7 days a week. We also manage and help with palliative care within the community to allow patients to be nearer to family.
Mou | About you

Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
FACEM or Fellow of the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine, or overseas equivalent
If you are not a fellow of Emergency Medicine or Rural Medicine but feel you have the experience and skills required from working in a similar environment please apply and we can discuss suitability.
Experience in, or passion for, providing quality care to our rural and disadvantaged communities.
