Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe role of a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician is to provide diagnostic testing of medical specimens. As Te Kuiti is a small multi-discipline laboratory, staff are trained to cover all areas including specimen collection, registration, pre-analytical preparation, and diagnostic testing and reporting.About the ServiceTe Kuiti Hospital Laboratory is an integral part of the Te Kuiti community. The laboratory has a team of 8 staff including 4 scientists. The laboratory has up to date technology, and mostly performs testing of Haematology and Biochemistry samples for hospital and community patients. A smaller amount of Microbiology is performed on site. The laboratory also issues blood products and oversees a range of Point of Care testing for the clinical areas of the hospital.About YouSkills and experience you will need to be considered for the role:Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council.Experience working in a multidiscipline medical laboratory will be advantageous.Ability to work independently as well as part of the team.If you are an experienced scientist or technician, or a new graduate wanting to gain broad experience, and enjoy being part of a small team with a strong sense of community, this position would be ideal for you.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
