Te Tai o Poutini West Coast Laboratory is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Greymouth on a full-time basis. The West Coast Laboratory is the only laboratory on the West Coast, processing a variety of work from both Hospital and GP settings. Expand or launch your career from here.We are a close-knit friendly team of Scientists and Technicians, totaling 18, with a strong quality focus. We are looking for you to bring a 'can do' attitude to ensure the efficient and smooth running of laboratory services.The laboratory operates between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday and outside of these hours, you will participate in an on-call roster including weekends.This role involves:General laboratory tasks including phlebotomyPerforming analysis and other associated laboratory tasksProviding diagnostic and specialist testingUse laboratory information systems to register patients, input data, and access resultsMaintain your own professional developmentProviding high-quality service to clientsProblem-solving within the teamResult interpretationReporting resultsThis role requires the following:Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, with a current Annual Practising CertificateOr maybe you are a new BMLSc graduate, or about to graduate with a BMLScAbility to work independently but as part of a teamHigh attention to detailWe are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles by ensuring our partnership with Maori are at the forefront of all our conversations.
