Middlemore Hospital is a 950 bed Hospital and is one of New Zealand's busiest and most diverse teaching hospitals.Our Haematology department provides a 24-hour service for Middlemore and Kidz First Hospitals and the Manukau Health Park. Our department is involved in teaching technical and medical staff and has close links with the Clinical Haematology service.We perform a range of diagnostic haematology testing using automated systems for cell counts, cell morphology and coagulation testing and have a special haematology section which assists with the collection and processing of bone marrow samples and performs haemoglobinopathy and thalassaemia screening. Our department is a dynamic, progressive laboratory run by a professional and well-motivated team.We currently have a vacancy for a permanent evening shift position, Monday – Friday, 1500-2330. However, we would also welcome and consider applications from suitably qualified scientists who would prefer to work a rotating roster of shifts that would include weekend and evening shifts, and participation in a call roster.Ideally you will have recent experience working as a scientist in a haematology laboratory.Minimum Requirements:Eligible to work in New ZealandRegistered member of the Medical Sciences Council of New ZealandHold a current Annual Practicing CertificateExperience in HaematologyComputer skills and experience with health and safety protocolsIf this sounds like you, then we would like to hear from you!
