About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Radiology team. Our radiology service is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care across the region. You will work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment. There are opportunities for training, skill development, and career advancement.
You will participate in shifts scheduled between 7:00 am - 11:00 pm with rotating and rostered call between 11:00 pm and 8:00 am Monday to Sunday.
About the Team/Service/Location Wairau Radiology is a key part of healthcare services at Wairau Hospital, offering a comprehensive range of imaging to support clinical care for the local community. Our team works collaboratively to deliver timely, accurate, and patient-focused imaging services, including X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography, dedicating a gold standard service to a diverse patient population.
Wairau Hospital offers a dynamic and supportive environment where students can enhance their practical skills and gain valuable experience in a clinical setting.
About you: As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will:
Work alongside a team of skilled professionals in a friendly, patient-centred environment.Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT scans, and ultrasound, with accuracy and attention to patient safety.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging that supports patient diagnosis and treatment.Maintain and operate imaging equipment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their imaging experience.Skills and experience The ideal applicant:
Is registered with the NZMRT Board and holds a current APC or is eligible.Has proven experience in diagnostic imaging.Has strong communication and teamwork skills.Has a commitment to high standards of patient care.Experience in CT is preferred but not essential.Is competent with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or has a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Has experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health NZ is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
